Microsoft, Windows, Office, 365, Defender....What???
Simply put, Microsoft makes them all.
Office / 365
This includes,
Word
Excel
Powerpoint
Outlook
(Outlook the program, not outlook the online email, a.k.a. outlook.com)
Office/365 installs and runs on your computer like a regular program.
Windows
This includes,
(The computer operating system)
XP
Vista
Windows 7
Windows 8
Windows 10
Windows 11
This is the main operating system your computer comes with.
Defender
This is,
Microsoft’s Anti-Virus program.
This program is Free and comes already installed on – Windows 10 & Windows 11
If you have any other Anti-virus program, such as Norton, or McAfee, Defender will automatically be deactivated until you remove the 3rd party anti-virus. Because there can only be one running at a time.
What about all the spam emails?
Microsoft Office, Windows, and Defender have no bearing on your emails.
All emails, including spam, are regulated by your email provider, ie Gmail, Yahoo, ect.
Because anyone can send you an email, you will have to block the sender that is sending you spam.
This can be done by creating a filter or placing the sender on the block list. Each email provider is different in how they let you block senders.
